OOH Birth is a class specially designed for families planning an out-of-hospital (OOH) birth. You will learn about risk assessments before and during OOH birth, common reasons for transfers to hospital, what to expect during a transfer, and suggestions for improving your chances of giving birth at home or the birth center. We will cover what you need to have on hand, as well as key people who will be present. We will also review when to call to midwife, when to call 911, and what to do if the baby arrives before the midwife.
This class meets the state requirements for clients planning an out-of-hospital birth.
This class is offered the fourth Sunday of every month, following Everything About Birth -- A Complete Birth Preparation Course. It is strongly recommended that you take BOTH classes.
